2nd Trip To Trezelecki Track

April, 2013 - SA

Camp for the night

I was given a leave pass for a few days so decided to once again drive up to Lyndhurst and attempt driving up the Trezelecki track and a little further than my last trip up here. It looked like there has been a fair bit of roadworks going on as it didn't appear to be quite as rough so I drove just over one hundred Kilometers along a very dusty road.

I checked out Mount Lyndhurst station and spent several hours zig zagging around the area. I then drove to the end of a stretch of bitumen which I thought strange when I first saw it and pondered why 12 kilometer of bitumen would be here on a road that is basically dirt and rocks for 500 km.

Anyway after eight hours serching for Chested-breasted Whiteface I gave up and headed back to Leigh Creek for the night. I was so stuffed being out in the wind swept country I couldn't even bother to errect my camper tent and pulled out my 3 second tent, So much quicker and a lot less pain.

I then traveled down the Parachilna Gorge to Bliman. Then on to Stokes Hill lookout for an hour looking for wrens. No luck so off to a small walk around a track just south of Wilpena. Then the long drive back home.

All in all a great few days out doing what I like most. Birding.
